Chía Pudding – The best way to start your day

Chia pudding is the perfect healthy breakfast or snack.

What is chia and why you should try chia pudding?

Chia is an edible seed that comes from the desert plant Salvia hispanica, which is grown in Mexico and dates back to the Mayan and Aztec cultures.

Chia means strength and that make sense, as chia seeds are a concentrated food and a super food. They are high in fibre, protein, carbohydrates, antioxidants, calcium, B vitamins, iron, phosphorous, zinc, magnesium, copper and selenium.

Chia seeds are rich in omega-3 fatty acids; just two tablespoons of them have the same amount of heart-healthy omega-3s as four ounces of salmon.

Ingredients:

3 tablespoons of chia seeds

1 cup of milk of your choice

1 teaspoon of maple syrup or honey

Mango, Strawberries, blueberries, pineapple Cinnamon

Put chia seeds in a Mason jar or other container and add the milk.

Whisk together, cover and put the mixture in the fridge overnight.

The chia pudding should be thick (no liquid). If is not thick enough, add another tablespoon of chia seeds and let it sit a little longer.

Use your favourite fruits and cinnamon to decorate
