Saskatoon landscape artist Paul Constable’s exhibition The Quintessential Prairie continues at the St. Thomas More Gallery on the University of Saskatchewan until Oct. 19. He speaks about his work on Sunday, Oct. 6 from 1-3 p.m. at the gallery. “There is always something beautiful or thought provoking to paint if you look,” Constable says. “The changing light, reflections and shadows are my catalyst that inspire and challenge new ways to visualize the prairie.” His work can also be found on his website at www.paulconstable.com.
Men Who Paint, a collective of local artists engaged largely in plein air or outdoor painting, are having a show and sale at the Willows Golf and Country Club clubhouse Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 19 and 20. The group includes Greg Hargarten, Ken Van Rees, Cam Forrester, Paul Trottier and Roger Trottier. They have travelled and depicted much of Canada in their work, but have also travelled to other locations including Europe.
